Concrete Leveling & Lifting Methods
Leveling and lifting are ways to improve the elevation of settled concrete when the slab remains suitable. Mudjacking uses a cementitious or slurry material beneath the slab; polyurethane lifting uses expanding foam. The right method depends on slab condition, settlement pattern, access and site conditions.
What to Look For
Photograph the entire affected area as well as close views of cracks, edges, joints and elevation changes. Note whether the condition is changing, whether water collects nearby and whether a previous repair has failed.
When to Get It Evaluated
If the damage is spreading, creating a trip point, holding water, showing movement or getting worse after winter, an evaluation can help determine whether targeted repair still makes sense.
